The Port of Odessa or Odessa Sea Port, located near Odessa,  is the largest Ukrainian seaport and one of the largest ports in the Black Sea basin, with a total annual traffic capacity of 40 million tonnes. The port has an immediate access to railways allowing quick transfer of cargo from sea routes to ground transportation. Along with its younger satellite ports of Chornomorsk (1958) and Yuzhne (1973), port of Odessa is a major freight and passenger transportation hub of Ukraine. More on The Port of Odessa

Konstantin Filatov 1926-2006 – member of the Artists’ Union of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic (1960), laureate of the USSR State Prize of Taras Shevchenko (1972), for the painting “Red Square” and “VI Lenin”. Honored Artist of the USSR (1974). Konstantin Filatov was born October 20, 1926 in Kiev, Ukrainian SSR. In 1955 he graduated from Odessa Art School of MB Grekov. Since 1957, Konstantin Filatov has been a permanent participant in national and international art exhibitions. The artist worked in the field of easel painting and was the author of numerous genre paintings, landscapes, portraits and still lifes. 

Filatov taught at the studio of military artists named after MB Grekov for many years. In 1970-74 he taught at the Odessa Art School of MB Grekov.

Konstantin Filatov died on February 25, 2006 in Odessa. His works are represented in museums and private collections in Ukraine, former USSR republics, and abroad. More on Konstantin Filatov
