Giuseppe Barison (September 5, 1853 – January 7, 1931) was an Italian painter and engraver, active in Venice.

Barison found a patron in the aristocratic Anna De Rin, who placed him in apprenticeship with the painter Karl Emil Haase in Trieste, and then enrolled him in the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. In 1872, Barison began to take lessons from the Nazarene painters Karl von Blaas and Eduard Von Engerth, and also took courses in art history from August Eisenmenger.

Returning to Trieste in 1876, the next year he participated at the Esposizione di Belle Arti, which gains him a two-year stipend from the city to study in Rome. After Rome, he spent some years in Venice. His wife Giulia, originally from Trieste, and not happily settled in Venice, successfully urged her husband to relocate to Trieste. He experienced a chilly reception there, in part due to his personality, in part due to his Venetian style of painting.

The First World War exiled Barison to the house of Roberto Amadi in Pegli, Liguria where he stayed from 1915 to 1918, and continued painting land- and sea-scapes. After the war, he returned to Trieste, and along with contemporaries Guido Grimani and Ugo Flumiani, continued to paint such themes. He often painted outdoors. Dieppe belongs to the Pays de Caux, lying along the Alabaster Coast in the region of Normandy. It is located on the Channel coast, north of Rouen at the mouth of the Arques river and lies east of the mouth of the river Scie.

A port on the English Channel, at the mouth of the Arques river, famous for its scallops, and with a regular ferry service to Newhaven in England, Dieppe also has a popular pebbled beach, a 15th-century castle and the churches of Saint-Jacques and Saint-Remi. The mouth of the Scie river lies in the Canton of Dieppe-Ouest at Hautot-sur-Mer. More on Dieppe

François Gall (1912–1987) was a Hungarian painter. He became an impressionist painter in the pure French tradition after he moved to Paris in 1936. He was born in Kolozsvar in the former region of Transylvania on March 22, 1912 and began studying all media at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Rome while working menial jobs to secure a living. In 1939, the Hungarian government awarded Gall with a scholarship for his artistic merit.

Six years later, Francois Gall established himself in Paris and became a student of Devambez at the National Academy of Fine Arts. He greatly admired the first generation of Impressionists and adopted their concepts for his own interpretations. Parisian scenes and and portrayals of women engaged in typically feminine activities were amoung his preferred subjects. Francois was a modern impressionist, bringing his own unique personality to this most enduring style.

Gall participated in various Salon exhibitions in Paris and became a favorite with the public. In 1963, he was honoured with the Francis Smith Prize. He died in 1987. More on François Gall
