A barquentine or schooner barque is a sailing vessel with three or more masts; with a square rigged foremast and fore-and-aft rigged main, mizzen and any other masts. More on the barquentine

Gazela is a wooden tall ship, built in 1901, whose home port is Philadelphia. She was built as a commercial fishing vessel, and used in that capacity for more than sixty years. She now serves as the maritime goodwill ambassador for the City of Philadelphia, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and the Ports of Philadelphia and Camden, New Jersey. She has been featured in a number of films, and participated in domestic and international events. More on the Gazela

Cacilhas is a former civil parish in the municipality of Almada, in Lisbon. Cacilhas is situated on the south bank of the river Tagus facing the city of Lisbon. More on Cacilhas

The Tagus is the longest river in the Iberian Peninsula along the border between Portugal and Spain, where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean near Lisbon. The Tagus is highly utilized for most of its course. At its mouth is a large estuary on which the port city of Lisbon is situated. More on The Tagus

Edward Brian Seago, 1910–1974; was a British painter, writer, and illustrator, born in Norwich. He was confined to bed for much of his childhood, had little formal education, and was mainly self-taught as an artist. From 1928 to 1933 he travelled with circuses in Britain and abroad, and he wrote three illustrated books on the circus in the 1930s. However, he became best known for landscapes and portraits.


During the Second World War he served as a camouflage officer and after being invalided from the army in 1944 he was invited by Field Marshal Alexander to paint scenes of the Italian campaign in 1945. In 1953 he was appointed an official Coronation artist and in 1956–7 he accompanied the Duke of Edinburgh on a world tour.  More on Edward Seago
